Carlo De Angelis
Research Assistant
Long lab
Main focus of current work
I am here to help – and get a sense of satisfaction when I successfully complete a work package or knit together and validate a novel construct.
Biography
Graduated from the University of Edinburgh a lifetime ago. My first job was at Inveresk Research International in Musselburgh – now Charles River. Joined the unit when it was called the MRC Clinical and Population Cytogenetics Unit, working initially for Dr Ros Hastings and Dr John Morten. Spent 40-plus years in the Unit finally working for Professor Robert Hill before retiring. Came out of retirement to lend technical assistance to Hannah Long and her co-workers on a part-time basis.
Outside the lab
I am a qualified football coach holding an EUEFA A licence. Also, I hold a Gold Velotech bicycle maintenance certificate and volunteer at the Bike Station in Edinburgh recycling donated Bicycles.
